VA CHILD CARE SUBSIDY PROGRAM CAN MEET SUMMER NEEDS June 25, 2007
Do you use a child care provider only during the summer months? Are you a full-time or part-time VA employee? Is your child or children under age 13 or disabled and under age 18? Is your annual total family income less than $60,000?
If so, you may qualify for the VA Child Care Subsidy Program and have VA pay up to 45% of your child care costs for summer child care. To find out if you qualify or to apply, contact your local HR Office or visit the web site at: http://vaww.va.gov/vachildcare or call 800-323-4140 or 877-541-4556.
Are you currently enrolled in the VA Child Care Subsidy Program and moving your child or children to another child care provider for the summer?
If so, and you want to receive child care subsidy for the summer child care provider, please contact your local Human Resources (HR) office to apply for the subsidy as soon as possible. You will need to provide your HR office with a copy of the provider’s license and schedule of fees with your application. The subsidy can’t be paid retroactively so make sure you submit your application in time to receive the subsidy for the entire period that you are using the summer child care provider.
